Two days ago, a two-month-old baby passed away in Tirana.
The baby’s mother, Vjollca Shkëmbi, spoke to A2CNN and, through tears, explained that the child had been born prematurely.
According to her, the doctors in Tirana should have kept the baby under medical care for a longer period of time, something she claims was not done.
Her husband, Arben Vesholliu, shares the same view. He says the baby received special care from the parents, but this was not enough because of the premature birth and the lack of sufficient medical care.
He has one request: that the baby be brought home so he can say a final goodbye.
The maternal grandmother also described in detail the health problems the baby had, adding that the child was growing with difficulty.
“After the health condition worsened, doctors in Korça decided to transfer the baby back to Tirana for more specialized treatment at the pediatric hospital, where the baby passed away,” she said.
