A serious incident has shaken the city of Gjakova on Monday morning.
One person has been killed and another injured as a result of a shooting incident. The Director of Police in Gjakova, Lumni Graishta, in a statement to Reporter, said that the owner of a bar near the Çarshia e Vjetër allegedly opened fire on customers following a dispute.
“It is suspected that the murder occurred around 05:20 in a bar in the Old Bazaar of Gjakova. According to the initial information, the owner of a bar, after a disagreement with a customer, used a firearm, as a result of which one person died at the scene (whose death was confirmed by the medical team at the scene), while another injured person was sent to the regional hospital for further medical treatment,” Graishta said.
The Police and the Prosecution confirmed to Insajderi newspaper that the suspect is currently on the run and has already been identified.
What is known so far?
As a result of the shooting, the person who died at the scene was Rasim Binakaj, about 38 years old, while the suspect in the case is Nexhdet Zymberaj, the owner of the bar “My Place” in Gjakova.
At the crime scene, police found and confiscated five shell casings from a firearm, as well as a sharp object (knife).
