The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that mothers on maternity leave who are employed and who have not received the full 13th salary should submit a request to the institutions where they work, and it will be executed next month.
After reports that some mothers who were on maternity leave last year did not receive the full 13th salary, Murati said that this depends on how it was declared by the institution where they are employed.
He further stated that this is a mistake that can be corrected and the payments will be executed next month, reports KP.
“I am not aware of such cases. The decision states that employees who are on maternity leave during the period are counted as if they had worked full time; therefore, they are also entitled to the 13th salary. What may have happened, I don’t know about specific cases, but I encourage them to file a complaint with the institutions where they are employed, because it often depends on how it was declared by the institution. If there was an incorrect declaration and the person did not appear as an employee on maternity leave, an error may have occurred regarding the treatment. That can be corrected and certainly next month the payments can be executed,” Murati said.
