Egzon Azemi: No political party has more KLA veterans than the Vetëvendosje Movement

Deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Egzon Azemi, has claimed that none of the parliamentary groups in the Assembly of Kosovo has more veterans and former political prisoners than the party he represents.

Azemi made this statement in an interview for ATV, adding that the Vetëvendosje Movement also leads in the number of activists who were engaged in the early cells of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Insajderi reports.

“Take a look at the parliamentary groups, look at each political entity and representative in the Assembly of the Republic — no parliamentary group has more KLA veterans than the Vetëvendosje Movement. No group of any political entity has more former political prisoners and activists who were engaged from the early stages in the fight for liberation from the Serbian occupier,” Azemi stated.

He also accused opposition political parties, saying they hide behind the KLA’s name.

“Such an opposition, which even 26 years after the war still hides behind the KLA logo  and on the contrary, if there is any political entity and political figures that have damaged this legacy, it is precisely those who voted for the Specialist Chambers, who forgot all those veterans, invalids, and martyrs, and even, for narrow party gains, increased and multiplied the number of veterans,” the Vetëvendosje deputy added.
