France’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Jerome Bonnafont, stated today during the meeting on UNMIK’s work that those responsible for the Banjska incident must be brought to justice.
He also said it is unacceptable that they remain free, emphasizing that they must be held accountable.
“Nearly two and a half years after the Banjska incident, it is unacceptable that those responsible are still at large. They must be brought to justice and held accountable. France continues to support the efforts of UNMIK in coordination with KFOR and the EULEX mission. UNMIK’s mandate is inseparably linked to the relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
“France supports all logical efforts aimed at harmonizing the mission with efficiency measures in accordance with its full mandate,” Bonnafont said.
