Abdixhiku calls on citizens: You are being billed at an expensive rate even at night, check your meters

LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku has demanded an investigation into the electricity meters, for which his party colleague Visar Azemi said yesterday that they are measuring energy consumption incorrectly and that citizens are being billed for this.

Abdixhiku said that the findings presented yesterday are alarming and called on citizens to check their meters.

“When the state fails, injustice enters every home. What was presented yesterday at the conference by our Department of Energy, through our member Visar Azemi, is alarming. Citizens are paying more expensively not because they consume more, but because the metering system is miscalculating. From the verification of 884 meters that our activists have done, 87% result in calculating the time incorrectly, billing for energy at an expensive rate even during night hours. This is no longer a coincidence. It is a systemic failure.”

Abdixhiku said his party will seek institutional responsibility for this.

“Therefore, LDK invites citizens to check their meters. We pledge that we will follow this issue at all institutional levels, until justice is established for every citizen. LDK demands an immediate investigation, institutional responsibility, compensation for citizens and a halt to any increase in tariffs until the real situation is fully clarified.”
