Swiss newspaper Blick reports on a fatal accident in which a 33-year-old man lost his life. According to the newspaper, the accident was caused by a 20-year-old of Albanian origin, Leotrim W.
According to Blick, Leotrim had overtaken another vehicle in Escholzmatt, Lucerne, at around 7:15 a.m. last Saturday.
During the overtaking maneuver, he reportedly lost control of his car and crashed into a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane.
The other car was driven by Tobias T., 33, a father of two children, who did not survive the crash and died at the scene.
Leotrim W. was also seriously injured in the accident and remains in the hospital.
Blick writes that his family reacted strongly when asked to comment.
“He’s not doing well,” they told Blick.
“It wasn’t a race! A lot of nonsense is being spread. We now have a lawyer,” the family of Leotrim W. said.
Lucerne police had already announced that the 20-year-old lost control of his vehicle after an overtaking maneuver and that one person was arrested after the accident. In response to an inquiry from Blick, the police have now confirmed that the person arrested is a third party.
