Kosovo is better than its current position in the FIFA rankings, said Slovak football expert Ladislav Borbely.
It is the Slovak media outlet “Pravda” that interviewed Borbelyn, whom it introduced as a football expert.
Kosovo is currently 79th in the FIFA rankings, while Slovakia is 44th.
“The two teams are balanced in terms of value, two or three million doesn’t make a difference. We are better in the FIFA rankings, but that doesn’t show much. Kosovo is on a big rise. Its position is far from representing the current strength. It is much bigger, similar to ours,” said Borbely.
He said he studied Kosovo. And he drew interesting conclusions.
“It is a talented team from the Balkans, with elements of the German mentality. Thanks to the selector Franco Foda, they managed to make improvements in the natural elements, which enable them to compete at the European level.”
The former coach of many teams emphasized that Kosovo acts rationally and chooses situations with pragmatism. He described Kosovo’s game as stable.
He doesn’t expect Kosovo players to enter the match excited and overly emotional. He says Foda will take care of that.
Borbely hopes the double-headed eagle doesn’t fly over Bratislava, but said it’s difficult to predict the favorite.
