The Mayor of the Municipality of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has welcomed the activation of the Special Prosecution regarding Shkëlzen Gashi’s exhibition.
Rama stated that any attempt to distort or manipulate the country’s history must be treated with a high level of institutional responsibility.
“I welcome the action and the institutional approach of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo regarding the exhibition ‘Massacres in Kosovo 1998–1999’. The historical truth of Kosovo is not a matter of interpretation, but an unchangeable foundation of justice and national dignity. Any attempt to distort or manipulate it must be treated with a high level of institutional responsibility,” Rama wrote.
Rama said that there must be zero tolerance toward those who undermine the historical truth and the constitutional order.
“It is high time that incompetent and irresponsible individuals are not tolerated to manipulate the most painful and most important periods of our history. History is not a space for experiments, nor for false narratives. We expect the justice institutions to act with zero tolerance toward any action that undermines the historical truth and the constitutional order,” he added.
