Lebanon declares Iran’s envoy “non grata”, gives him until to leave

Lebanon has declared the Iranian envoy persona non grata and asked him to leave the country by Sunday, March 29.

According to Reuters, Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has withdrawn the accreditation of the Iranian ambassador and made this decision, citing Tehran’s violation of diplomatic norms and practices established between the two countries.

The ministry has also summoned the Lebanese ambassador to Iran for consultations.
