Moderator Kushtrim Sadiku has denied being drunk during Thursday’s debate, where the discussion focused on the Battle of Košare and the KLA.
Sadiku wrote that the reason his communication was affected was due to stomach treatment and a dental implant procedure.
“The therapy I am undergoing for a stomach condition, which I have had for several years, and the treatment of dental implants have made it difficult for me to communicate. This has caused me pain and fatigue at the same time — a combination I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Everything else being said on social media is not true,” he wrote.
Full statement:
Dear friends, first of all, allow me to apologize for the situation created during Thursday’s debate.
The therapy I am undergoing for a stomach condition, a problem I have had for several years, along with dental implant treatment, has made communication difficult for me. This has caused me both pain and fatigue — a combination I would not wish on anyone.
Everything else being circulated on social media is not true.
Even in a difficult situation, I tried not to leave the show unrealized, as I have done for 17 consecutive years on TV without missing a single episode, despite illness or various challenges. However, in this case, it turned out to be a misjudgment.
It is human to make mistakes, and I am no exception.
I want to emphasize the respect and great importance that Košare holds for me, first as a citizen of this country and then as a journalist. I have produced dozens of shows about Košare and I am very proud of them.
Once again, I express deep regret for the situation created. I understand the criticism and appreciate your support. I do not understand the wave of smear, but I cannot ignore that it exists — driven by various extremist groups, politically motivated groups, social media snipers, and ill-wishers.
I insist that I will do my utmost to continue fulfilling my role as the author of the show.
See you shortly on Politiko!
