The Mayor of Prishtina, Perparim Rama, has announced the passing of former Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee and former American congressman, Eliot Engel.
Rama said that Engel was among the first to stand by Kosovo when it needed friends the most.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Eliot Engel. At a time when Kosovo needed friends the most, he was among the first to stand by our side, raising his voice with clarity, conviction, and unwavering support. His leadership in the U.S. Congress helped our cause gain international attention and played an important role in advancing it. Kosovo will always remember his friendship and dedication.
On behalf of the citizens of Prishtina, I extend my sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy will live long in our memory,” Rama wrote.
