KEDS Reacts After Accusations That Electricity Meters Are Measuring Citizens’ Consumption Inaccurately

KEDS has issued a media statement following accusations made today by an official from LDK, who claimed that electricity meters do not accurately calculate the expenses incurred by citizens.

In its response, KEDS stated that electricity meters are calibrated and synchronized with the official time at the moment they are installed and that they offer maximum reliability.

“The metering systems are designed in such a way that every consumer benefits equally and fairly from the application of tariffs, including lower tariffs, according to the determinations of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO). The synchronization of the time in the meters has been carried out with a high level of precision, ensuring that all consumers switch to the lower tariff at the same time, in full compliance with the applicable rules and standards,” the statement says.

“In isolated cases, small deviations may occur due to technical reasons, but even in these cases the duration of benefiting from the lower and higher tariffs is accurate. Since the duration of tariff measurements is correct, even if there is some time discrepancy, KEDS responds immediately to every complaint or remark from consumers. Our technical teams verify the situation in the field and take the necessary actions to resolve any problem quickly and professionally.

Therefore, we ask political parties and all other parties to refrain from unverified statements that do not correspond with reality,” the statement further says.
