Democratic Party of Kosovo MP, Enver Hoxhaj, has stated that opposition parties must find new forms of cooperation.
He emphasized that it is high time for the opposition to clarify whether it will continue to function in this form of cooperation or follow a more concrete path.
According to him, for two years the opposition has not had the opportunity to form a genuine opposition due to the lack of functioning of the Parliament, while frequent elections, as he said, are more in line with the Vetëvendosje Movement.
“Mr. Albin Kurti is making efforts to consolidate his absolutist power as much as possible, and frequent elections, as was seen last year, suit him more than we who are in the opposition. During these two years, we have not had the conditions to form a genuine democratic opposition, because where there is no Assembly, there are no parliamentary committees, no parliamentary confrontation, and the formation of the opposition remains only in television studios and within political parties. It is high time that we see whether we will function within this system of cooperation or whether we should take a path that could be more concrete on how we will form the opposition,” he declared on the show Këndi i Debatit.
Hoxhaj added that it was a mistake that the opposition did not unite to form the Government at the end of last year, emphasizing that the main responsibility for this, according to him, belongs to the Democratic League of Kosovo.
