The MP from Vetëvendosje Movement, Mefail Bajqinovci, today made a reaction regarding suspicions of manipulation with electricity meters, saying that the meters were installed in the years 2014–2017, and that during this time the prime minister was Isa Mustafa, while the Minister of Trade was Hykmete Bajrami.
In response, Visar Azemi from the Democratic League of Kosovo asked Bajqinovci why he is “defending theft”.
Azemi also said that Bajqinovci remained silent for six years and, when he spoke for the first time, “he defended the thief” instead of “seeking justice”.
The post:
Why is Mefail defending theft?
He stayed silent for 6 years about a scandal that he himself says he had known about earlier. The first time he spoke, he did not ask for justice; he defended the theft.
And today he is misleading. He is diverting attention and defending the biggest energy fraud. The meters are not “Iskra.” We have 877 samples. Check yourselves at home. But even if they were, theft is theft, even if it belonged to Mefail himself.
Because the problem is not the name of the device. The problem is unfair billing, abuse, and lack of accountability.
Whoever knew and stayed silent shares responsibility. Whoever comes out today and relativizes this scandal is defending this theft.
Therefore, the question remains the same:
Mefail, why are you defending theft?
In the coming days, we will continue with the full clarification of this scandal — all the way to the Prosecutor’s Office.
