“Oil has never been more expensive”, Kurti returns to his statement pledging to remove government jeeps

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has so far not taken any action regarding the oil issue. The media has published a photo of the price of oil, which is 1.71 euros per liter, taken at the ‘Ex Fis’ fuel pump, a company close to the Vetëvendosje Movement.

“Since the declaration of independence, oil has never been more expensive: 1 liter = 1 euro and 22 cents. Even longer than that, there has not been such a drought in the months of October and November. Many farmers have not planted at all this year, and those who have planted are not seeing their seeds sprout. Kosovo’s agriculture has not been so weak and imports so high for a long time,” Kurti’s statement on ‘Facebook’ in 2018 reads.

Kurti further said that the number of government jeeps is increasing, which have cheap fuel “just as the tractors of farmers who are not supposed to work the land should have.”

On the other hand, he pledged that with the future LVV government, “oil will be freed up for farmers’ tractors that will work the land and expensive jeeps will be removed, because the people must be held accountable.”

However, neither is the fuel price being released for farmers nor are the expensive jeeps being removed.

This statement was shared by LDK MP Janina Ymeri, who called the high price of a liter of diesel a “new record.”

“New record! The same man, only from criticism at a new level of price,” Ymeri declared.

The government has not yet taken any action to mitigate the increase in the price of petroleum products. /Insajderi.org/
