Qumili referred to the Police commander as the “Catholic commander” when speaking about reports that he beat his sister; Gjokaj reacts

Humorist Sevdai Radogoshi, better known as Qumili, commented on reports that he had beaten his sister.

Speaking about this on the show “Canapé” on T7, at one point he referred to the commander of the Police in Gjakova, without mentioning his name, suggesting that the case had been handled with bias.

Kristë Gjokaj, former commander of the Police in Gjakova, reacted in a Facebook post.

“Sevdai, you’ve embarrassed yourself a bit here! A commander is not identified as Catholic or Muslim. I am purely Albanian, from the Merturi clan, just like you are! Nevertheless, ‘Thank you very much!’,” he wrote, publishing a photo with the humorist.

When asked about the case, Qumili said:

“This happened many years ago and I’ve never liked it being mentioned in interviews, because you know how it is? If you spit upwards, it falls back on your face. She is a member of the family and lives in my house. I have given her the house.”

He said that his sister is “a neuropsychiatric patient” and that “the judge and the prosecutor made the case bigger.”

“In short, a mother takes her son to the police and says, ‘Come, I’m experiencing violence from my uncle,’ and the police take the boy and hold him for 48 hours. I go and get him out. Is there a son who reports his uncle to the police saying, ‘He’s abusing me, he’s using drugs and forcing me to pray’? The Catholic police commander: ‘Close it.’ I think we understand each other,” he said among other things.
