A 31-year-old woman from Kosovo was found dead under unclear circumstances in a hotel in the Shkëmbi i Kavajës area in Durrës, Albania, on Saturday.
Regarding this incident, the Durrës Police said that the Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes Against the Person referred the case materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens V. E., 38 years old, and A. Sh., 34 years old, both residents of Durrës and administrators of the hotel where the incident occurred.
“Yesterday, inside the premises of this hotel, the Kosovar citizen J. H., 31 years old, was found without signs of life. From the preliminary examination of the body, no external injuries that could have caused the death were observed. The body has been sent for a forensic autopsy in order to determine the exact cause of death,” the Police announced.
From the initial investigative actions, the Police say that “it is suspected that the two administrators did not issue a fiscal receipt for renting the premises where the woman had been staying since December 2025.”
“The materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for evaluation, while the results of the forensic examinations to determine the cause of the 31-year-old’s death are still awaited,” the statement said.
