Hoxha Fatmir Latifi said that a person cannot be both Muslim and against the nation they belong to, because these two things contradict each other.
According to him, fasting does not earn spiritual reward when it is not accompanied by proper behavior.
“The one who does not have conduct at the level that suits fasting — legally speaking, the fast may be valid, but it has not a single grain of reward,” Latifi said on DPT Te Fidani on Klan Kosova.
He also criticized people who, he said, go to testify in The Hague against the “UÇK four,” while at the same time claiming that they are fasting.
“How is it possible for a person to fast and insult others? To fast and slander? To fast and lie? To fast and give false testimony? To fast and commit bad deeds, not listen to their mother or father, anger their family, harm people, testify for evil and wrongdoing, become a traitor to the nation, go to testify in The Hague against the UÇK four, and then say ‘I am fasting’? It doesn’t work like that.
“Being Muslim and being against your nation — these two things don’t go together. By God, they do not,” he said on Klan.
