Ardian Dubova Achieves International Success: “From 6 to 5” in the Main Competition of the Prestigious Oberhausen Festival

 

The short film “From 6 to 5,” with cinematography by Ardian Dubova, has been selected for the International Competition of the 72nd edition of Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, one of the oldest and most prestigious short film festivals in the world.

This selection marks an important achievement for Kosovar cinematography, placing the project among some of the most outstanding international productions of this year.

The film is directed by Erlisë Beqiri, while the cinematography by Ardian Dubova represents a key artistic element in shaping the visual style of the work.

“From 6 to 5” tells the story of a security guard at a hotel, following his daily routine and the challenges he faces. The main roles are played by actors Astrit Kabashi and Eshref Durmishi.

A distinctive feature of the film is that it was shot on 16 mm film, marking a rare return to the use of analog film in Kosovo. The project is considered among the first narrative short films produced in this format in many years, giving it a unique aesthetic dimension.

The film’s world premiere in Oberhausen is expected to be an important moment for presenting Kosovar cinematography on the international stage.
