A serious incident has shocked public opinion, as a 5-year-old child from Lipjan was urgently taken to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo with extremely severe injuries, Insajderi reports.
According to the official statement from SHSKUK, the minor was admitted to the Central Emergency Department with severe wounds on both soles of the feet, showing gangrenous changes.
After initial examinations by plastic surgeons and pediatricians, the child was urgently hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Due to the nature of the injuries and strong suspicions of abuse, health institutions immediately alerted the Kosovo Police and social workers.
Currently, the 5-year-old is being treated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of vascular, plastic, and orthopedic surgeons. Although his vital parameters are reported to be stable, his condition remains serious, particularly from a psychological standpoint, with child psychiatrists and psychologists also involved in his care.
SHSKUK states that the child is under continuous supervision by medical staff and social workers, as he has no accompanying parent or legal guardian.
