“Israeli soldiers were exposed to a carcinogenic substance at a damaged military facility”

Some Israeli soldiers were exposed to a carcinogenic substance at a military facility in the center of the country after it was damaged by ongoing attacks, Anadolu reports.

Ofek Neuberger, a journalist for Israeli Army Radio, said that the soldiers were exposed to asbestos for several days while carrying out duties at the damaged facility.

On the American social network X, he said that the soldiers had been tasked with sorting documents and guarding the area near the hazardous material without sufficient protective equipment.

Neuberger added that even after the equipment was evacuated, the troops remained near the building for an additional period without the necessary protection.

There was no immediate official comment from Israeli authorities, which maintain strict censorship regarding losses resulting from rockets and drones launched by Iran or Hezbollah.

The attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran began on February 28, while Tehran has responded with repeated drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf countries that host U.S. military assets.
