The Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq, spoke to the local Serbian media outlet Radio Gorazhdevci about his relationship with Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti. He said there have been situations where they disagreed, but explained how Kurti, as he claimed, decided to transfer 24 hectares of land to the Deçani Monastery because of him.In 2024, Kurti asked the Kosovo Cadastral Agency to transfer 24 hectares of land to the Deçani Monastery, saying this would be crucial for Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, which ultimately did not happen.“I will say it, perhaps even without modesty, but this happened thanks to my continuous insistence.
For years I explained why this is important. In the end, the Prime Minister called me before the Government meeting and said: ‘I have thought a lot about this.
We will do it, but know this I’m doing it because of you,’” Rashiq said, as reported by Kossev. He added that although this was an old court obligation that no one had implemented before, the fact that Albin Kurti carried it out at his urging carries special weight:“It was a big thing that is not material in nature, but something much more important. I think this should be appreciated,” he stated.
