“Gërvalla and Peci threatened MPs not to vote for Osmani as President”

Former member of the presidency of the GUXO branch in Peja, Ruzhdi Blakaj, has made strong statements against the party’s leadership and two of its main figures, Donika Gërvalla and Faton Peci, regarding the lack of support for Vjosa Osmani to be re-elected as President of Kosovo.
Blakaj, speaking on “Debat Plus” on Dukagjini TV, said that according to him, Gërvalla and Peci exerted pressure and threats on MPs not to support Osmani in the race.
“There are only a few people who did not want Vjosa Osmani. I think that Donika Gërvalla together with Faton Peci threatened the MPs, even going as far as calling the President manipulative, and warned them that if Glauk enters the race together with the President, they must not vote for Vjosa. I had stated even back then that these are not the real leaders of GUXO and that they have moved over to Vetëvendosje,” Blakaj said on Debat Plus.
Among other things, Blakaj claims that the GUXO party, in his view, has been used as a tool to gather votes rather than functioning as a genuine political entity.
“A very simple fact is how can a GUXO chairman run for mayor of Mitrovica without even mentioning the party’s name — he ran with Vetëvendosje and not with GUXO. GUXO has long been used as a tool to collect votes and nothing more. Very few people do not want Vjosa, among them are Gërvalla and Peci, as well as the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti,” Blakaj stated.
