Fuel distribution in Tehran has been suspended following intense overnight attacks on storage depots, according to the governor of the Iranian capital, Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian, CNN reports.
Motamedian said that “the problem is being resolved,” according to the state news agency Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).There was no fuel shortage, Motamedian said, but the full restoration of the network may take some time. He urged people to “manage their fuel consumption.”The Fars News Agency reported that it was currently impossible to completely extinguish the fire.
At another fuel storage facility in Shahran, the fire was being managed, with firefighters “extinguishing flames appearing in water channels and along the roads,” Fars said.“The fire has not yet been fully extinguished, but the situation is being managed and it is expected that as the amount of fuel decreases, the flames will be put out in the coming days,” Fars reported.
