Fuel Prices Rise Again in Kosovo

Date:

The price of diesel in the retail market in Kosovo has reached up to €1.60 per liter on Monday.

According to the chairman of the Association of Oil Traders of Kosovo, Fadil Berjani, diesel prices depending on the company range from €1.53 to €1.60 per liter, while gasoline prices range from €1.34 to €1.38 per liter.According to him, the wholesale price of diesel is €1.54 per liter.

The increase is continuing as a result of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.On March 5, a decision by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Entrepreneurship of Kosovo (MINT) on setting the trade margin entered into force. The decision sets a profit margin of 2 cents for wholesale sales and 12 cents for retail sales.

Global oil prices have risen significantly following Iran’s attacks on other countries in the Middle East, as a response to attacks by the United States and Israel.

Oil prices worldwide rose to their highest level since July 2022 on Sunday evening after the administration of Donald Trump suggested that the conflict with Iran could last several more weeks. The president also called on the international community to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz for oil tankers.

Brent crude oil increased by 2.9%, reaching around $106.12 per barrel.
