Two Albanian nationals have been arrested by French police in Calais while attempting to enter the United Kingdom illegally by hiding inside a truck.

According to international media reports, one of them was armed with a pistol fitted with a silencer.

They were stopped just as the truck was preparing to board a ferry, and the driver of the vehicle was also taken into custody.

Authorities suspect that the arrested individuals may have links to criminal groups and were planning to meet people from the criminal underworld in the UK. Investigations have been launched against them for illegal possession of weapons and illegal immigration.
