A tragic incident has occurred in Kosovar football.
Veteran club KFV Barileva player, Liridon Gubetini, has passed away today. Initially, he lost consciousness after the end of the first half of the match against KFV Deçani, and later died as a result of a cardiac arrest, reports IndeksOnline.
The news was announced by KFV Barileva through an official statement.
“Today, at the age of 43, during the Cup match between KFV Barileva and KFV Deçani, after the end of the first half, Liridon lost consciousness and left us, leaving behind a great void and deep sorrow among all those who knew him.
Liridon will always be remembered as an extraordinary person, respected and very close to the veteran team, always giving his contribution with heart and dedication. He had been part of us since the very first day of the team’s foundation.
In these difficult moments, we express our most sincere condolences to the Gubetini family, the sports community, and all friends and teammates who had the fortune to know him.
Liridon, may Allah reward you with Paradise. Your memory will always live among us.
We are deeply saddened by this tragic event,” the statement reads.
