Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced that Shpëtim Dobra will serve as the chair of the board of the enterprise Trepça.
He proposed the appointment of the new head of the board of Trepça J.S.C. following the resignation of the current chair.
“I propose before you Shpëtim Dobra, with the aim of ensuring the continuity of the board’s engagement at Trepça J.S.C.,” Kurti stated.
Dobra served as the head of the board of Telekomi i Kosovës from 2021 until 2024.
He had also continued to perform the duty of chair in the public enterprise for two months after his mandate had expired.
In a statement that Telekom sent to its employees, which was seen by Insajderi, employees were informed about a visit by two deputies from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje. They were Driton Hyseni and Jeta Statovci, who at the time were members of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy.
Hyseni was quoted as saying that, as a parliamentary committee, “they are happy that Telekom of Kosovo is moving in the right direction, both in respecting the law on public enterprises and in technological investments to provide higher-quality services.”
Members of the board whose mandates had already expired two months earlier were also part of the meeting. In the meeting, alongside the chief executive Hana, were seen Shpëtim Dobra, the former chair of the board, and Sajmie Thaçi, a former member of the board.
This was considered to be contrary to Article 8 of the Law on Public Enterprises, which stipulates that “each elected director serves a term of three years.” /Insajderi.org/
