One of the most important points of today’s decision by the Government to grant the 13th salary in the public sector concerns the treatment of women who are or have been on maternity leave during this year.
The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, announced that, unlike other categories that may be paid proportionally, mothers on maternity leave will receive this salary in full, being treated the same as employees who have been active throughout all the months.
According to Murati, this decision aims to protect the well-being of mothers and ensure that they are not financially penalized due to their legally approved absence from work.
“At the same time, we have taken care of women on maternity leave who are currently on maternity leave or have been on maternity leave during this 12-month period. The months spent on maternity leave will be recognized the same as months when they worked full-time, so that they are not excluded or moved to partial payment, but instead receive the full 13th salary,” Minister Murati said, as reported by Insajderi.
