A large-scale anti-drug operation was conducted today in the Suhareka region, where the Kosovo Police carried out an operation against illegal activities involving narcotic substances.
Kosovo Police spokesman Daut Hoxha has confirmed that three people have been arrested in the operation, codenamed “Kimisti”.
During this operation, approximately 1 kilogram of suspected heroin-type narcotic substance was seized. Several firearms and a considerable amount of ammunition were also found and seized.
“I confirm that an anti-drug operation codenamed “Kimisti” was initiated and conducted after joint investigations of the Kosovo Police with the prosecution, through the implementation of special investigative measures. As a result of coordinated operational and investigative actions, a successful police anti-drug action was carried out today. During this operation, about 1 kilogram of suspected heroin-type narcotic substance was seized. Also, three people suspected of involvement in this criminal activity were arrested. As part of the operation, three locations in the Suhareka region were searched, where several firearms and a considerable amount of ammunition and narcotic substances were found and seized. All actions were undertaken in close coordination with the Basic Prosecution in Prizren. The Kosovo Police, namely the anti-drug units, remain committed to combating and preventing criminal activities related to narcotic substances,” said Hoxha.
