Rising Fuel Prices in Kosovo – Kosovo Chamber of Commerce Proposes Two Measures

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce has put forward several proposals to “protect businesses and citizens” amid rising fuel prices across Europe.

The Chamber stated that its proposals would help curb the increase in prices.

“Considering the rise in fuel prices in Europe due to recent geopolitical developments, the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce calls for immediate fiscal intervention to protect businesses and citizens,” the Chamber wrote in a Facebook post.

The Chamber proposed reducing excise taxes on petroleum products and temporarily removing or lowering the VAT rate on them.

“These measures would help reduce prices, ease the financial burden, and stabilize the market. Similar measures have already been implemented in several EU countries and in the region to curb price increases and protect citizens,” the statement said.

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce added that it “is ready to offer its expertise in drafting fiscal policies that support economic development and market stability in the country.”
